General Details

NEVER CLICK PUBLISH SITE

When it's time to publish an item/page, the following properties should be selected:

Select "Smart publish"
Publish subitems (only if you need multiple children items published with a parent item)
Publish language (should be appropriate language for the site being worked on IE: Blucher would be EN, Watts is EN-US)
Click Publish if you're an Approver; Submit if you're an Editor and follow the appropriate Workflow steps.

Templates Matter

Always make sure the correct template is selected for the specific site being worked on. You can do that by looking at the template path in the Quick Info Menu. The following templates belong to the Documentation site as can be seen in the URL:

Ex:
/sitecore/templates/Documentation/Pages/Product Education Article
/sitecore/templates/Documentation/Pages/General Page

Quick Info Menu

If you're not able to see the Quick Info menu (this is how you get the item path and check that the template is accurate), do the following:

Click on the rubix cube in the upper left corner of the screen.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Change Application options.
Check the box for Quick Info section
Click OK.
